While we do like to have fun at Paws 4 Play, our first concern is your dog’s safety. It’s the basis of most of our policies. With this in mind, please be aware that we...

• Limit the group to a maximum of 20 dogs per day, even though we have the space for many more. In our experience this is the right size for a low stress pack. Unfortunately, this sometimes results in a waiting list for new admissions.

• Require up-to-date vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella, Canine Flu.

• Require that dogs  be spayed/neutered when of age.

• Require regularly scheduled days each week so that your dog becomes familiar with the same group of friends. Familiarity and routine are very important for canine peace of mind. Substitutions can usually be accommodated upon request once a dog is comfortable at daycare.

• Admit only socialized dogs or puppies who are becoming socialized through regular daycare attendance.

• Limit drop off and pickup times to a few hours at the beginning and end of the day. This minimizes the pack tendency to get overexcited about people coming and going. And it prevents a dog from believing that since his friend’s Mom picked up early, that must mean he needs to keep his eyes on the driveway for the rest of the day because his Mom must be coming any minute now.

• Only offer overnight boarding for dogs who are enrolled in the Daycare program.

• Set up an interview for all new dogs. This gives us a chance to observe your dog’s body language and social style and gives you a chance to check out our facility and ask any questions.
